Oil Painting
December, 2023
This piece was created using oil paint on canvas. Inspired by a picture I took in my neighborhood, I wanted to capture the way the light filtered through the rose petals, warmly illuminating it against the cool blue background.

Colored Pencil
November, 2023
A study of color, this piece was inspired by the vibrant colors of spawning salmon in the Pacific Northwest. I challenged myself by using a limited color palette of complementary red and green.
Light over Water
Colored Pencil
February, 2023
This piece was inspired by a photo that I took of an evening on Lake Chelan. In much of my colored pencil work, I strive to capture my appreciation for natural landscapes through studies of light reflections.
Stehekin River
Colored Pencil
June, 2025
This piece was again inspired by my time in Stehekin, WA. There is a tranquility in that place and in that river that I find difficult to put into words. Here is my attempt to put it into my art.
